trainee = apprentice = 在某個行業中，被行家訓練的新手，不一定支薪，例如: a trainee electrician = 電工實習生
雖然 trainee 跟 intern 常常互相使用，卻有以下的不同:
trainee = 通常為公司正式雇用的員工，先經過實習的階段學習工作的需求，過了一段時間後(通常為三個月)，公司再決定是否長期雇用此人，如果決定不繼續雇用，就得開除或資遣此人
