I think you can use "resource unit" to mean one individual unit and "resource network" to mean the entire network, but I probably would just say "social network". For example, you can say "Social workers need to communicate their needs with their social network."

This is a better answer. 單位 could mean a person; so we might say, "he's a good resource for something." Also, we can say a pool of resources. Let's gather all of our resources together. The event planner, the coordinator, the sponsors, the restaurant are all necessary. Now we have a pool of resources.
