Fantastic. This is the question I have asked others. I knew the words crooked, lopsided and lean to one side, but I haven't realised there is also "awry".Also I learnt the word "kink" mean to have knots twisted together now. Great info!

Thank you. Usually there are multiple words to describe the same thing but some words are used more often than others. And also there's context and stuff involved...

Both of the following work:The posters on the wall seem to be lopsided.The posters on the wall seem to be crooked.although I feel the latter one is the more correct English.

Good point. "Tilted" also works but it's more often used to mean "to cause to lean" as in "her hat tilts" or "the table tilts". Thanks for your input.
