臺灣小吃店很多,我們自己是不把他們稱作餐廳,英文還有什麼字合適嗎?

I'd call it a "cafe". You can also call it a "hole in the wall" if the context is right.

Or you can call it a "small, dingy restaurant". There's nothing wrong with describing it in plain English.

Actually, I think "diner" is the best answer for 小吃店.

Jingtao Liu Thanks for your input. However, a "greasy spoon" is typically specialising in fried food, which isn't what a Taiwanese 小吃店 is always about.
